My mother is coming to visit us for a few days and I have no idea what to do with her. It will be during the three weeks so we're kind of limited, but does anyone have any suggestions of what the two of us can do during the day (in NYC)? Thanks!

Are you going to be with children? The Brooklyn botanical gardens are free on Tuesday, and usually they have childrens programs. The childrens museum is fun, also the Jewish childrens museum in Crown Heights is nice to visit.
NY has tons of art museums, the Met, the Guggenheim, etc. You can do touristy stuff like the Empire State Building, Central Park, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, if those places are open. Times Square, 5th Avenue shopping and window shopping, the Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Bronx Zoo......NYC has the most stuff to do!
Go online and go to the tourist websites, you should NOT have a hard time figuring this one out!
Then there are the restaurants.......I think you will be VERY busy.

Empire State Building, Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty, Jewish Museum uptown or in Battery Park, maybe combine with ellis island. China Town, Soho, Circle Line cruise.

American Girl Place........Yes adults love it too!!!!!! And it's indoors in this hot weather. Then you can go to the grand "Toys 'R Us" which is very close by and is very interesting too.
Prospect Park, you can go boating.
And all of the above that previous posters have mentioned. Enjoy!!
