im planning on making it this shabbas, and leaving out the ginger. I really dont like the flavor of ginger and there are soo many other flavorful ingrediants I cant imagine it would make much of a diff.

I also made it this week. It was a huge hit. Its so different from everything else. If youm double it I wouldnt double the dressing, it makes a lot.

Huge hit at the shabbos kiddush! I doubled recipe and it was enuff to feed an army. (Better to have leftovers than not enuff) This one is my favorite salad from the four I prepared!
And I was calling it: Chop Chop Yum Yum till I reread the title! Lol

Sounds delish! Does it get soggy if it sits in the dressing or can it be made in advance?

I like to dress it like 30 minutes before I serve it so the cabbage can soak up the dressing.

It has peanuts in. Is that not a problem for sukkos or do you plan on leaving them out?

Made it for Sukkos (twice). It was a great hit!
Did not use ginger and I didn't have any roasted nuts, so I just "roasted" some cashews with a little olive spray in a drop of sugar in the oven.

For most people the minhag of no nuts is for walnuts. Some people don't eat nuts at all. But peanuts is definitely not considered a nut by anyone who keeps this minhag. I do know of one crazy guy who during this time doesn't let his family eat 'sesame seeds' because of this minhag...

This is probably a dumb question but will it work with toasted sesame oil? I never ended up trying it because I thought I had all the ingredients but did not
