No cakes had a boy!

I thought she'd had a baby (mazal tov) and was panicking because her freezer was empty and she had nothing to serve at the shalom zachar.

And my first thought at seeing "No Cakes had a boy!" was, of course no cakes had a boy, cakes don't reproduce like mammals.

(cakes reach reproductive maturity shortly after being removed from the oven. at that point, a select few "queen cakes" are photographed for recipe books. recipe book owners such as ora then see the pictures, decide that on second thought maybe they are in the mood for cake after all, and create new cakes. and the cycle of life continues.)

And *I* thought that she was upset that she had a boy, and therefore didn't want to celebrate (*no cakes*)

I misread this as, "America's Next Top Mohel - modern orthodox jew contestant" and I thought to myself, wow has reality television gone that far?!?!?!?

what to do with a big bunch of chicken necks?

Shidduch them off as soon as possible--but that is NOT a nice way to refer to yeshiva bocherim!

Rolling Laughter

See, my first reaction went the other direction. I thought...
Purchase turtle necks for the poor girls, and stop calling them names.

I just experienced a mothers worst nightmare

Since when do mothers get to sleep - which is necessary in order to dream?

OP - I don't mean to make fun of your thread, your experience sounds horrific and I hope it blows over.

Just because he chose to not got to Med School doesn't mean he's ruled out law school. Don't give up just yet. I'm sure once he sees how much his decision is "killing" you (maybe fake a heartache) he will reconsider. He's a good Jewish boy after all.

"Having a baby in law school"

Starting young, eh?

OR

I've heard of the debate of hospital birth versus home birth but never in law school. I guess they could debate the risks and benefits while you labour...

Dropping food on baby's head

Made me think of a line from Marvelous Midos Machine; "And who splashed ketchup on the baby's head?"

OK, I had to open the husband's ushpizin thread (under soup Scratching Head what kind of soup is that?) and when I saw her question my first reaction was, I know, Specialty of the House!

Having a baby in law school.

Look, I know that she'll always be your baby, but I think its time to realize that she's an adult.

And I was thinking that she really could have taken time off of school to do that. I didn't know midwives would come to school to deliver.
