What kind of salary do you think I can ask for 1/2 day of teaching? I have about 8 or 9 years experience. (Also I'll have to do an hour of traveling every day)

Would you say $30,000 or $40,000? Any other opinions? Thanks.

What school district/location/type of school?

It varies greatly depending on these factors.

It's a frum, small school. Out of town - not in New York. What are the different salaries you would get and from which type of school?

In an out of town, small school, I wouldn't expect more than 25 k for half a day...

I think 30,000-40,000 is a pretty high expectation. I would say. In many schools fulltime teachers are making in the upper 30's. I think not more than 30 - 33,000

and in some small OOT schools even that might be a lot, but since you have experience and are not some single, straight out of seminary girl, that sounds reasonable...

I think 35,000 is reasonable for an out of town school, especially with all that experience.

I would say you can ask for $35,000 - $40,000 for a teacher of 9 years experience. Some schools would even pay up to $50,000.

I don't know about the specific situation you're asking, but the range you quoted sounds like quite a lot for 1/2 day. In a lot of places that's more like a full time salary (at least for a starting teacher, experience might be more but still - I talk full time).

Other than experience, do you have anything else to bargain with? Professional teaching certification or degree in your subject area, e.g.? Do you have kids you might want to send to that school, that you could maybe combine commutes and bargain for tuition breaks as part of salary package?
