Slightly diabetic guest might be coming for Shabbos

It would be nice to know at this point, right? I just wonder what I need to have different for her; I don't h ave her telephone # and although I see her at simchas and she takes care of herself nicely, I would like to do the right thing.

Like, should the gef. fish be No Sugar? Etc.

I have a family member with diabetes. What does 'slightly' diabetic mean?
Try to make everything without sugar/honey etc.
With juvenile diabetes (Type 1) you are limited in the amount of carbohydrates you can eat. E.g. you cannot eat potatoes,rice etc if you're eating challa. (Depends on individual how much they can eat)
Meat, chicken, fish, eggs have no carbohydrates.
Fats and oil also don't.
Non-starchy veg e.g tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, carrots, zucchini, eggplant have small amount of carbohydrates.
Fruits are fairly high in carbohydrates and can be eaten in moderation.

So-
Fish is fine but without flour, matzo meal and/or sugar. You could bake or fry fish.
Soup is fine, but leave out potatoes or legumes unless you leave them moreless whole so you can serve your guest his/her portion without them.
Meat,chicken etc - not breaded or sugar or alchohol
Salads- make some, because diabetics fill up on them; just skip sugar in the dressing and added fruit.
Dessert- you could buy sugar-free ice-cream. Melon is low in carb.
Drinks - sugar free.

My BIL is diabetic & can eat everything, he's just careful. My friend too- she's have cake & nosh in moderation & drinks Diet Soda. Have non sugary things available if possible.

we had a diabetic guest on pesach, but he can eat anything in moderation and he is careful. I skipped all dressings and sauces and made sure I had lots of salads in the menu. I also picked up some sugar free cookies which were pretty awful, but remember it was pesach!
oh and dry red wine is supposedly lower in carbs than sweet wines.
