Chicken Soup with carrots and zucchini

Sweet 'n Sour meatballs

Chocolate cake
Tea

A very simple shabbos....nothing fancy.

Big week this week, all the kids and grandkids are coming for Shabbat Very Happy , except, sadly,for our chayal... Crying

Our menu is:

homemade whole wheat challa
egg salad
chopped liver
vegetable salad
beet and peas salad
homemade chummus
matbucha
zucchini salad (bought)

St. Peter's fish

chicken with barbque sauce and strawberries
beef patties
brown rice with craisins
orange kugel (butternut squash, carrots, sweet potatoes and pumpkin)
green beans

Coconut Pecan Chocolate Pie
Chocolate Mousse
roasted nuts



Kiddush: cheesecake with blueberry topping

Shabbat Lunch

leftover salads
Fennel salad
Shnitzel
Brisket with kasha vanishkas
white rice
individual potatoe kugelets

Strawberry Mousse

and B'h The cooking went quickly and easily today. All I have to do tomorrow is chop the liver (fry some onions too), boil the eggs, make the shnitzel and make the fish.


Plenty of food if anyone wants to join us!

We are out Fri Night but have tons of company shabbos day. (think 12 adults and 15 kids.)

Not sure if I have enough food. Will ask Dh when he gets home what he thinks.

what's the avocado hearts of palm salad? can you post the recipe? thanks!

avocado hearts of palm salad is just avocado, hearts of palm and cherry tomatoes then put on a splash of lemon juice some salt pepper and garlic. Thats it. sometimes I also add red onion.

Friday: challah, teriyaki chicken, Japanese cabbage salad, eggplant/tofu stirfry, cucumber salad, miso soup, apricot cake

Saturday: challah, sushi (fake crab/avocado/cucumber; egg/sweet potato; cucumber; cucumber/cream cheese; avocado/cream cheese/green onion), miso soup, salads and cake from Friday

Better get hopping!!

oldyoung- your menu sounds great! I make the same salad but put a teeny bit of mayo as well as salt, pepper, garlic, and lemon juice

Friday night:
Mushroom Barley Soup
Basalmic braised chicken
sweet potato kugel
sweet noodle kugel
yummy lettuce salad that I can't explain
purple cabbage salad wtih peanut butter, craisins, scallions, oranges
garlic green beans

Lunch:
Cholent
same 2 kugels
corn salad
heart of palm/avacado/tomato salad
honey mustard lettuce chicken salad

Dessert for both meals-
Pomegranate sorbet
chocolate chip cookies
fruit salad
