Just thought I would share this 'incident' with you, to let it out of my system...
Last week, I put my baby to sleep for a nap in the morning and I decided that I also needed one. Fair enought , right?
Windows closed, phones off the hook, peace and quiet....
Woke up an hour later....realized the back door is open...
Got broken into....An envelop with 1000 dollars cash is nowhere to be found.... I was supposed to take it to the bank later..Was my salary for a small job I do from home...
My cell phone that was next to the money still there ...how strange...
I have to say the most horrible thing is not the money...Its more the feeling of invasion... when I was at home with the baby!!!
Bh we are safe. Only the money was taken...Kaparah...
The fear is still there.....
Yes I k now I shouldnt leave money like this etc etc etc etc...........

that is so scary!!!!!!!!!!! how'd they get in? broke lock on door?
it's not so weird that they didn't take cell phone because once you call it in stolen they can't use it- the network won't hook up that cellphone anymore (every cell has a upc like number & to activate cell have to give it)
I'm so sorry- that is soooo scary- b"h u were sleeping!!!!! yeah, you might have been able to scare them away but the alternative is just way too scary!

I guess now it's prob. too late but a good idea would be to call police and have them check the cellphone for fingerprints. (that's if it pays for you and if you want to get the police involved)..

amother, what a nes you had.
This is an answer we got from the Lubavitcher Rebbe after we had a robbery:
"k'maamar kedoshei elyon : 'nuch a sreifah vert men reich'. As the saying of saintly tzaddikim: after a 'fire', one becomes wealthy.
amother, you should be blessed with much wealth. more than make up for what you lost.
[P.S. If you didn't check your mezuzos/husband's tefillin within the last 12 months, it might be a good idea to do that.]

Yikes, how awful. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

| I was wondering the same thing. Was it sitting out (like right next to the door) so that the robber had to have seen it? Or could it have been someone who knew about it somehow? Either way, that's upsetting.
