Ok, here's an easy one all you fashionable ladies....
Why have I NEVER been able to wear mascara without it running?
No matter what I do, at the end of the night, it completely is covering below my eyes - I look terrible!
I have used multiple brands - clinique, revlon, etc. They all run. Waterproof, regular...
Below my eyes I use coverup and then powder over it.
And, I don't even bother using bottom mascara because that makes it even worse.
So, why is it running, while everyone else's stays where it's supposed to?
Thanks for the help, B"H I have v. dark eyelashes so I never ever wear it, but it would be nice to once in a while.

Maybe you should dye them, or just have them curled every day (but you could need mascara to make it stay better, maybe you can use transparent one though) or for two months or so by a lash perm, I recently did it and LOVE it. For some reason my mascara stays on a lot better with the perm.
I think waterproof mascara is a must. Waterproof Bad Gal (Benefit) and W. Oscillation (Lancôme) are my favs these days. I don't use the vibrations on the perm though.

Well, I don't need to dye my eyelashes because you can't really get any darker than mine. As for a lash perm, I wouldn't put perm chemicals so close to my eyes. That scares me.

Do you ever curl your eyelashes? If you have very dark eyelashes, curling them is probably all you need. You could also use clear mascara which will make them look a little thicker.
I also have issues w/ mascara running, even when it's waterproof.

Maybe you have oily eyelids. Oil will smudge even the waterproof stuff. Do you use cream around your eyes at night?
If you're only interested in special occasions, consider using fakes...very, very thin, skimpy fakes, that you will then denude even further so they look half bald. Or you can apply individual lashes or small clumps of lashes rather than a whole strip. That will give you an enhanced but still natural look. Warning, if your eyelids are oily, the glue will not stick. Lids must be clean and dry, dry, dry.
Umm..if you "never, ever wear it" how do you know that nothing works?

If you dont use it so often and dont really need it, then maybe curl them and only put a little bit on near the tips. like 2 quick strokes from about the half point of your lashes instead of going all the way to the base.

Do you use eye cream before applying mascara? If so, make sure you put it only below the orbit of the eye.
I use Revlon Define a Lash (red tube), which is marvelous. Place wand at base of lash and roll it up lash. DO NOT STROKE.
If all else fails, use Kiss Me Mascara. It coats your lashes in little tubes, so it shouldn't run. I think Loreal Beauty Tubes does the same.

I don't use mascara. Haven't tried again in years. I guess I'm lucky that I have decent lashes.

No mascara of mine has ever run, which makes me think that it's the wearer and not the mascara.
Lucky you that you don't need it- as others have said, curl them and enjoy!

same here, mascara never ever runs. It can very well be the wearer, and if they have oily skin that interferes... the best waterproof mascara I ever used that is easy to put on and take off is cliniques lash power mascara.. I use it on clients and they love it since it is very easy to take off...and lasts really long..

You can try cleaning you eyes with an oil free makeup remover and cotton balls before putting on makeup and try not using the waterproof mascaras. They tend to flake and can leave smudges below you eyes. CoverGirl has a new mascara made with nylon so it doesn't flake. It's called Lashblast Legnth and comes in a skinny yellow tube.
Let us know if it worked!

I may have the answer. your coverup may be oil based which could act as a makeup remover. try a non oil based coverup

This could be the answer. Anyone know anything about clinique coverup in the tube? I think it's oil based.
Because I have the driest skin ever, I do have to moisturize a lot. But I don't do my eyes (I don't think). I also don't think I touch my eyes...It makes sense that it's the coverup.
What coverups don't have oil?
