I'm looking for a therapist for my 12 year old son. He seems to suffer a lot from anxiety and I think he really needs professional help. His techers and rabbeim havn't really been able to help him.

Anyone you've been happy with? I think he'd do best with a frum man and have heard of Morris (Moshe Lasson).

TIA.

Jonathan Lasson isn't a liscenced psychologist, but might be a good therapist, regardless of that. I'm not sure if Morris and Jonathan are related or how.

Morris is his father. I used him a couple of times. I don't have much to say either way.

Yehuda Weisbord is a LCPC in private practice. He has a "day job" in my agency and has an excellent proffessional reputation. I know that there is a practice made up of mostly frum practioners run by (I am blaning on a first name ) Hochberg- something like the Maryland Counseling Network... If you are not looking for someone davka frum, but really really good and who works with a lot of frum kids then Neil Weissman is another reccomendation.

If you are looking specifically for anxiety and stress (and/or OCD) then look no further. I have an excellent referral for you who has helped so many people. Jewish but not frum, but helped many frum people. Please PM me.

Jonny Lasson is most definitely a licensed psychologist. He is a PsyD, rather than a PHD. I think he is excellent and I know he treats many teenagers and has a great track record. Dovid Hochberg and Yehuda Weisbord also have great reputations. None of them take insurance, unfortunately but usually, you can submit it to your company and be reimbursed for part of the bill.
