About the belly-button piercings and pregnancy:
They sell special things that you can put in during pregnancy so the hole won't close. You should look for it online.

About the temp tattoo:
I got myself into trouble with those once.
It had already faded and I had to toivel, it happened to be on a friday night. I forgot all about my fake tattoo when doing the hachanot, and only remembered after I came back home from dipping. Then I suddenly looked at my rm where the tattoo had been and saw some remnants which hadn't come off.
I wiped a bit and it came right off, so I sped back to the mikve in order to toivel again. Luckily the ML was still there!
But that was a huge mistake.

I dont find belly rings yukky, tho I would never in a million years get one. however, I do find the concept of a nose ring very un-classy. its just not classy, Mother Rivkah or not, because hey we dont live in biblical times and what constitutes "classy" has changed, quite a bit. I dont see the appeal. ok I admit it, im floored that ppl on imamother have nose rings. ok maybe im a naive nerd. cool. anyways I wonder if its an israeli-yishuvnik-kibbutznik thing.

People on here bash everything.

To me all these belly, nose and tounge rings are very immature. I only see them on the crazy wacko teenagers that are roaming the streets. You'll never find even a normal classy non jew wearing them!!
I had a workmate that pierced her belly and it got alllllll infected! she picked up her shirt to show me how it looked and I almost fainted. That wuld deff. NOT turn your dh on, it'll have an opposite affect on him!! same goes for all the other piercings- to me (and I think most ppl) it's disgusting!!

About the topic at hand -I have a belly ring but would never get a nose ring. Everyone finds different things beautiful and I really think like all things its a matter of opinion and to each their own. Women on here who are putting people down and saying how disgusting and not classy they think piercings are not exactly acting very classy themselves. I personally dont really care what you think is but I'm sure that there are some girls here who are hurt by how rude you made your opinion known. And that goes for ALL topics discussed.

Not the person who posted it, but she wasn't saying that it was *ignorant* or *pathetic* not to like body jewelry. She was referring to harping on the risks. In this world, everything is risky. You can die of drinking too much water. You can die crossing the street. You can die having a baby. As intelligent women, we weigh risks; we don't avoid them entirely.

Other than that, the only denigration I see here is people referring to women who wear body jewelry in rather offensive ways.

OK I got the point and I admit that it goes both ways, especially on this thread.
So I reiterate: Why is it necessary to denigrate and say others are "immature and not classy" for liking body piercing?
It is obvious that everyone has their own opinions regarding body piercings. Some love it; some hate it. Some think it's beautiful; some think it's ugly. Why is it necessary to attack anyone based on their personal opinion? Wouldn't it be better just to say, "You may like it, but I don't! To each his own"
And especially if there is no problem with it halachically. Now if you say your Rav holds it's no good, and someone else's holds it is fine, then that is a difference in halachic opinion - still unnecessary to be critical and unpleasant about it!

ok amother but this is an internet forum, not a cozy group therapy group, so we are all entitled to voice our opinions here. not to say things like "youre a slut" or "youre a loser" or to label people, no, that would be disgusting, and is always wrong and mean, internet forum or not. but to voice an opinion about a topic, not a person: well, why not?

You yourself said that theres bashing going on on this site. Theres a dif between voicing an opinion in a pleasant way and coming out and saying that people who do certain things are immature, unclassy and the thing they are doing is disgustiong. Especially when its about an innocent topic like this and in no way shape or form affects them or their lives. Like many posters in this thread a nicer way to go about it is to just say I wouldnt do it and I might not see why others would but to each their own. Yes everyones entitled to an opinion but there are women who do have body jewelry who might very well have been offended by how that particular poster made her opinion so clear.

This is totally not my style and I would never do it, but I think this is the most tasteful body piercing (other than the usual earrings). Other ones kind of gross me out, especially tongue and eyebrow. (Owww! Owww! Owww! Hurts just thinking about it! Smile )

This site is also a safe haven for people who do brazilian waxing. Hm, maybe a private forum is needed for people to talk about their body piercings and brazilians?

whats brazilians got to do with anything? I think brazilians are cool. I happen not to be a fan of body jewelry other than earrings. maybe thats cuz in my world its about as normal to wear a nose ring as it is to walk around with a pink lampshade on your head. but brazilians are normal in my community, I think.

Body piercings are on display everywhere you turn. Brazillians you'll only see in [filth]. Enough said.

sorry I just read the line gold said about brazilians being normal in her community. must have missed that one before! but, you can know if it's normal bc beauticians are chatty and while they wont say who does what, they will tell you how common whatever procedure they're doing on you is in that community. at least that's been my experience here in israel!

They are also in the job of sales Wink . It's to their benefit to make something seem the norm - esp. if it's a service they offer.

seriously, he walked up to me in the old city and asked if I'd marry him. 7 months later, I did!

sorry op, back to your thread!

I dont care. im still right. and no not only [filth] stars get brazilians. think of it this way. which is a female hotshot executive of a wall street company more likely to have? a nose ring? or a brazilian? a brazilian. because a nose ring, is whatever, im not going there again.
