I ate yomtov leftovers ALL week and would have preferred something else for Shabbos besides chicken, but here it is anyway. We're only eating home by night, anyway.
I hope we have wine; no idea
Med. heimische challah from Empire & ww challah rolls
Broiled flounder, maybe with dill and parsley
Chopped Salad from Old Young; always special !!!
Lemon Snapple to drink
Rasp seltzer
Chicken with potatoes from Prevention magazine

plenty of food, and they were a really nice bunch of people. I actually got sick friday night but they were very helpful and made all the salads for me.
I made baked salmon fillets, gefilta fish and salads (sesame noodles, rice salad, fresh salad, egg salad) for shabbos lunch and it was plenty. For friday night I just added water and veggies to my defrosted chicken soup and cooked extra chicken and rice.
the good news is my freezer has a bit more space now.

oldyoung-- this is one of my FAVORITE chicken recipes. it's totally sweet, but my DH who "hates sweet things" loves it. maybe because the first time he saw it, he decided it looked like it came from dougies, so he convinced himself to like it ? I dunno... but here it is!
Sweet Lemon-Curry Chicken
1 whole chicken, cut into 8ths, or chicken cutlets (I like it better on bone-in)
cornflake crumbs
egg
1 c sugar
1 t curry powder
1/4 t paprika
1 T lemon juice
salt & pepper
Coat chicken with egg and dip into cornflake crumbs. Bake covered at 400 for 30 minutes. Mix all other ingredients. Spread (or just glop) half the mixture on each side of the chicken peices. Put back into the oven, uncovered, for 30 minutes.
Let me know if you try it!
