I just made a whole bunch of really cute thank-you cards for baby gifts we've recieved (used a photo of the baby holding a sign that says thank you in kiddie handwriting).
The question is, fir the text of the card, should I write it from my DS or from us? In other words, should I write "thank you for the cute outfit you gave me. I can't wait til I'm big enough to wear it! etc..." or is that like gag-me-with-a-spoon cutesy?

I think it depends on to whom you're writing. To the baby's aunts & uncles? They'll get a kick out of it. To your grandmother's best friend from childhood? She'll wonder if anyone ever taught you to write properly.
Really though, the note should come from you. YOU are thanking people for their generosity; your DS really couldn't care much at this point.

I think it's better to write from you. I personally hate it when people write from the baby. a bit cheesy.
but then again my sister thinks "its soooooooooo cute".
from your post, it seems your gut feeling is to write from yourself, not from the baby - do that!

I agree with Marion and speaking of thank you notes, I need to really get my act together and order some before this gets out of control!

Yes, and sounds very immature. It's also not considered original... we have received so many cards like that.

I just finished writing about 100 thank you cards for baby gifts we received for my daughter.
OY..such a job. I dreaded it!
I think it's classier to write it from you. Having said that, when I wrote to my parents, inlaws and my grandmother, I wrote the letter from the baby...and they loved it! But it's a very different relationship with them. I normally wouldn't actually write a thank you card to my parents, inlaws and grandmother. That's why I chose to write the note from the baby!
So maybe write them all from you, but you can sign them on the baby's behalf when you're writing to your immediate family. It's cute for your sisters and brothers to get cards saying "Dear auntie Bracha" and "Dear uncle David".

I think you should sign it from 'mother, father and baby ________'.

Don't ask me. Everyone here knows by now that I detest "cutesy," and a note ostensibly written by an infant is so cutesy as to cause physical illness. (The pic of the baby holding a sign is cute, BTW, not cutesy. )
Please, the gift was given to you, respect the donors and write to them under your own name.

Seriously, does anyone know of any good websites where you can order cute baby thank you notes with the babies' names on it?

I have ordered from vista print in the past. Google a coupon code, as I found one for 50% off my order!

I don't know why but it drives me crazy when people do this. (Though I do think your pic with the thank you sign sounds adorable).

You can ink the bottom of the baby's foot and "sign" with his print.

oh, that's cute! but the cards are relatively small so I don't think there is room.
now, can y'all help me with the text? I feel like this is too short/choppy. all ideas welcome. (note: all but 2 gifts were clothing, and all are in bigger sizes, so I'm using those criteria for the standard letter and will tweak it as necessary.)
Dear ___,
Thank you so much for the adorable outfit you gave YZ. We can't wait until he is big enough to wear it! May we continue to share in simchas and only have nachas!
Love (I'd rather use a different salutation, but which?)
J, A, and YZ
