I usually do not get manicures, but im getting one today. when I do get, I ask for a light pink color, & they look at me as if to say "wow! she doesnt know which color she wants?" so im asking u, what color is a nice light pink, which does not look too clear?

I would have asked just what you said. Colours have different names and numbers anyway, how do they expect you to know??
(from someone who collects polishes and has been wearing them for more than 10 yrs)

I like "Ballet Slippers"- its a nice color pink- but get at least 2-3 coats so it doesnt look too clear

When you go to a salon, ask if you can try different colours to test. (Don't worry, they'll take it off before applying the one you choose). You might want to consider beige as well as light pink if you want something discreet.
French manicure! no need to worry about matching lipsticks/clothes/shoes, it's discreet enough and sophisticated.

Ador-a-ball by essie and bubble bath by opi are two other colors, but I do really like ballet slippers.

Another hint, my manicurist told me that if you put on only one coat it doen't chip as quickly as when you put on 2 or 3 coats. I found this true.

if you don't want too shocking go for light pink ... a few coats (3) should make it nice ...
otherwise go for bubblegum pink ...
or something to match your yom tov outfits ...
or else look at her array of colours - and choose by seeing ...

Ador-a-ball can look whiteish on some poeple but I find that it looks like a pinky kind of white on me.
If you want really pink pink, try fiji.
