Today I wanted to get something for yom tov. I love black dressess. I must have tried on at least eight dressesin two different stores and they all looked great but were too short on me. I'm 5'61/2 and wear a size 8 and nothing covered my knees. Soooo frustrating.

You can buy a dress that's short and add material to the bottom to make it longer (and unique).

Another vote for adding something to the bottom. An inch and a half of grossgrain ribbon added after taking down the existing hem does wonders, and looks great too.

Or add an additional material in the middle to make a neat waste (like a beaded piece) if the skirt is easy to drop.
