If you have daughters between ages 7 and 9, what are they into? No yard and no tv here. Can you give me ideas- what occupies them most of the time they're home? Oh yeah, and we're in Israel- the schoolday is short on most days, even with an extracurricular activity (chug).
We have a porch- anyone put swings on a porch and how'd you do it safety wise?
Looking for ideas that aren't too expensive and preferably good for Shabbos too (weekday they are into arts and crafts). I'm just starting to realize that many of our toys are for younger kids, or are games that require two people and they don't always want to play with each other.
Advice please?

Stickers! My daughter is in second grade and right now she's on a sticker obsession. When she gets home from school (early---also in Israel) her, and all the girls in our building, go down to the lobby or sit on the steps and trade stickers for hours, literally. They range in age from about 6 to 12, all equally obsessed.

My daughter can also color for hours. A coloring book, markers, scissors, and glue, and other craft supplies, and I don't see her all afternoon.

reading. My sister has a computer with no internet or games but her kids are allowed to use word processing or painting programs on it.

I loved lego at that age. Try and get the house sets with people.

Clics and tiny dolls, like Polly Pockets.
Jump rope, chinese jump rope (gumi), wheelies, the game Set (just bought it for Shabbos - they're a little young but they can do it), I wanted to get Taki but the store was out (it's supposed to be good but I have no personal experience, in other words).

Barbie, American Girl, coloring, Gameboy, books and puzzles. Some are expensive, but worth every penny, and some are cheap and worth just as much as the expensive ones.

polly pockets, dolls, leapster, dress up, building toys (lego, hexabits, clics, etc), kitchen/play food, loads & loads of books, arts & crafts/coloring, lots of imaginative games- house, ballerina, etc & she's taking piano lessons this year- so she spends time practicing as well.

oh and she has a relatively large sticker collection too.

My daughters like to bead and make different bracelets to match their outfits

Gardening - you can garden in pots or on window sill - gives them ownership and responsibility and they love cooking with what they have grown (even just herbs)

Active things they can do on a porch - hula hoop, jump rope and skip-it.

If they like arts and crafts, you can take out books for them that explore different art medium etc...where they can experiment and work at their own pace

Cook/help in the kitchen. Kids that age love to cut, cook and even wash dishes if its presented in a positive light... and is a great time to chat with your girls and keep the communication open.

Are you asking for ideas just for Shabbos?

If they are crafty, during the week they can make paper dolls - and clothes and then play with them on Shabbos (google paper dolls for templates and ideas)

Individual games like hi-q/solitaire or rush hour for kids

Small legos and other similar items - like zoobs

yes.
also they can make a puppet theater and puppets during the week (cut out the middle of a cardboard fruit box, leaving a frame. Hang a piece of material inside for the curtain. Make puppets on popsicle sticks.) and play with it also on Shabbos.

Hema beads. I think they're called Pearler(sp?) beads in the States. The one you put multi colour plastic beads on a pegboard and iron afterwards to fuse them. They make great succah decorations.

Reading. DD just leaves a number of books scattered around the house.

Go-Gos were really big at school last term, boys and girls alike, they are now officially banned but all the more reasons kids play after school.

Electric keyboard.

Just plain painting and colouring pictures.
