what kind of shoes, what's your budget & where do you live?
I got both my daughters Lelli Kelly shoes this year (which are all the rage this year & usually cost about $70 a pair) at Nordstrom. Together both pairs cost me $88. As for shabbos shoes- I'm looking at target & payless shoes this year. If you have a child wearing size 12 and under, target has great shoes. An insider baby publication says that stride rite actually makes target's shoes under a different brand name.

DD has two black shoes, one regular leather and one patent leather. I made her wear each pair on alternative days, patent leather for shabbat. Practical and well-constructed Clarks or Startrite, usually around £35. I've managed to resist Lelli Kelly--looked like they're rather hard to clean, can't wear to school anyway. She also has a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of crocs for summer.
DS has a black pair and a navy pair, both worn alternatively. Plus croc.

my older daughter has mary janes from them & my younger has t-straps. They aren't exactly sneakers, but they aren't leather shoes either. I got them because they are a nice hybrid shoe for school. they look nice & the soles are non marking so she can use them for gym. plus, most 6 year old girls just love sequins.

endless.com has great deals on brand name shoes like primigi, naturino etc. I f you know your child's size, you order that size and one bigger, try them on decide which fits better and return the other one for free! I was pretty successful with two of my kids from endless.

Why is everyone so secretive?
I got a pair of sneakers for my son from Payless for $20, Champion brand. Deer Stags from Burlington for Shabbos for $15.
My 2.5 year old's sneakers are from Target (Oshkosh) -- $5 (clearance!) flexible sole and great quality....got him $12 Shabbos shoes from there too. I stocked up on the next size from some random store here (D'Trevi brand? I can't remember) for $10 for when he outgrows his Shabbos shoes.
My baby's shoes are Squeaky Shoes I got online for $19 (free shipping).

Are they comfortable and supportive enough for children? Even I can't usually walk around all day with their shoes.
I got my dd shoes by Teschers. Ecco high top shoes in grey. They're really pretty on her and I know she'll be comfy in them. Certain things are worth their price.
Daffys has a lot of good quality brand shoes for cheap.

I find women's shoes aren't made nearly as comfortably as kids' shoes.

are you asking me? the size 23 was $30 something & the size 31 was about $45. Everything together with tax and all was $88. I thought that was pretty decent for European shoes.

My neices had these -they look great irl
The prices in bp are expensive -I bought ds shoes in the summer when they were on sale. I paid $50 (reg price:$95) for brown suede shoes.
I also just found for $17 adorable leather moccasins in off 5th - so I bought them for shabbos. They were so cheap because they are white- I'm gonna dye it navy/black

I have bought pretty silver shabbos shoes for dd at target and at walmart. She is older than your daughter, but those shoes wear out pretty fast as they are not leather.
For a young child who does not do too much walking they probably last longer. They are well made and don't look like junk.

$7 wal-mart shows for the kids to tide us over until Chol Hamoed Sukkos, which is when we usually spend the day shoppping for the year. Did it the last 3 years and don't regret it! I shop usually at Macy's, TJ maxx...
