No, the world is not coming to an end but in an official correspondence with Nescafe it has been determined that this great coffee and secret ingredient (use when coffee powder's called for) is no longer. There is a vanilla stick that they're selling, that is, boxes with individual servings in stick form. I haven't seen it yet but can't imagine it's terribly cost effective.
Meanwhile, dd mentioned Folger's has a French vanilla but AFAI can tell it's only the ground. I also don't know if it's pareve. If it is pareve, how bad would it be to use the ground instead of coffee powder in recipes? I am not at all a coffee maven.

Nooooooooooo!! We love that flavor!
We also really like the vanilla.
Anyone have a recommendation for a replacement product?

I recommend stocking up now while stores still have it in stock!

The individual serving sticks are available at my local target and the price isn't terrible.

I can't believe it. It was a great tasting coffee. I remember living on it throughout one of my pregnancies.

there are other brands - also they have flavoured creamers
fayge'la - ground coffee must be brewed before using ... instant coffee dissolves ...
but having your favorite coffee discontinue is worse than having your favorite booby trap be discontinued

I never liked the french vanilla one and hazelnut was alright. Dark roast is best.
For those of you who like vanilla, I was once in the mood of vanilla in my coffee so I put in a few drops of pure vanilla extract into regular coffee and it was pretty good.

Whoa, that's a bit dear.
And thanks for the dissolving lesson. One of my dd's explained that to me too. I wonder if I could get the ground, let a little steep in water, strain and use it for baking.
For those who don't "get it" if ever recipes call for some instant coffee, the French vanilla added such a great kick that I'd really miss it. I also enjoyed a very weak cup in the AM.
Chavamom, I'll check it out. A local supermarket had packets (only hazelnut), 20 for 3.69. I'm trying to remember how many tbsp. were in the 6 oz. pack to see how much more it costs.

my friend just pours a splash of vanilla into her cup of coffee. She claims it has the same effect.
Worth a try?
