Please explain why spanx are better than a girdle. If they are?
Anyone know where I can buy Spanx in brooklyn area. I would like to try them before buying.

Try Saposh, 4619 18th Ave. Spanx doesn't hurt - there are no rough seems or tight hooks - it's just a one piece that slides right over and holds it all in.

another wuestion about spanx:
I know spanx come in different lengths/sizes. so can one wear them instead of tights, like is it a piece that goes from waist to toes?

Spanx are amazing!!!
I especially appreciated their high waisted panty hose and tights and after having DD...it just holds everything in!

There is a lingerie store on Coney Island Ave between I and J that I think carries spanx.

Target has something that's made by the same brand as Spanx, but a lot cheaper. You may want to check that out as well.
FTR, Spanx IS also girdle.

I love Spanx!!! They sell them in most dept. stores. They have the pantyhose in Century 21 @ discount price, just not sure of the colors. Also as Defy mentioned, Target has a line as well:

Personally, I don't find that spanx "holds it in" better than a girdle - I just think it gives a smooth line all over, meaning, no panty line or pantyhose line. Everything is just smooth!
