I've been hearing diff takes on giving mishloach manos to teachers. I'm a teacher and I love getting the mishloach manos, nice note and seeing the kids dressed up. I"m just wondering what the issues are to make some parents NEVER give.

We sometimes just don't make it to every single teacher. Sometimes the teacher is not home. Or only home till a certain time, when they leave to go somewhere for the Purim seudah.

In such a case we will send it the next day, to school. But I'm wondering whether teachers love shlepping home a few heavy baskets.

I can only speak for myself( and I loved getting mm or any type of present that is Wink) but I don't see why any teacher wouldn't.

I think it's nice when the parents and students show their hakaras hatov by this small gesture. It doesn't have to be big or expensive but it says "I appreciate the time and effort you put into my child". The school that I teach at actually sends out a list to the parents of all the teachers, their addresses and what time they will be home (the teachers provide that info for the school).

as ours school has lots of kids and workers from out of town and a range of levels of observance, the PTA sends a list and you check off to which ppl you want to send. this includes all teachers, office and custodial staff including nonjewish staff. for each name you give a certain sum of $. each person gets one package with a list of names of participants. this makes life very easy, if expensive, for parents; relieves workers of the burden of shlepping home a thousand peckalach; and is a fundraiser for the school.
