One advantage of living in Australia: Tisha Ba'av is in the middle of winter, so the fast is short (over by 6:15) and it's not hot!

Plus, we finish the fast almost before Americans have started! LOL
I fasted great... B"H! Now there's just Yom Kippur to worry about...

Here in NY it's supposed to be the hottest day of the year today. Really not exciting!

The year I met DH I flew to UK (to meet him) on erev 17 Tammuz. The rov said that once the plane takes off, I need to assume that I'm in UK. So I had to start fasting about 1 hour into the flight. Of course, that was the one time that I had a switchover in London. And then I finally arrived in Manchester, where the fast ended about 10:30.
DH still tells everyone that I did 2 tisha b'avs in one year.

the fast is the same length wherever you are in the world, and I'd rather be somewhere where it is wet and cold then very hot.

I know that Raisin!!!!! As being wet and miserable the kids are climbing the walls they want to go out but they cannot, each country has it's advantages and disadvantages but when as you know the fast is out so late the day is so so so long and hard!!!

Well it's hot and I had to be at the hospital twice to see my mother and now going back towards evening. It's hot. I put the a/c at home on really cold and that helps. It also helped to cook shabbos, working with the food was distracting at least and not terrible for me. The cold helps.

I wish I were in Australia now. Even New Zealand (and no one laugh please remembering the other thread)

I am going to laugh Rolling Laughter
Less than three hours to go. My mind has been thinking about 9 Be'Av. I've realized some things. Maybe Mashiach is going to be here tonight.

Teeth? I can't smell my mouth but I do have to say the rest of me isn't as fresh smelling as it should be.
Okay, tomorrow it is.
Let Him come after the laundry is done and the fresh linens are on the bed.

it is longer in Alaska and such places b/c there is no tzes hakochavim, but there is shkiyah and sunrise
so the fast starts at shkiyah - 11:30 PM and doesn't end until sunrise the following day which is about 2:30 am - that's 27 hours - and not the most convinient time to brreak a fast

I actually feel better before I eat. I tend to eat too much and feel awful.
