I made these last night, and my husband said he never tasted such delicious tuna-vegetable patties. Thanks for the recipe.

You could serve them cold with salad & big dollops of Hellman's (or Heinz salad cream if you have any!)

I am SO HUNGRY now.

Depending on how much time I have, I usually do Spanish rice, baked potatoes, or french fries. Or just in a pita with salad and other stuffers.

My favorite as a side for tuna patties:

boil pasta and drain

fresh garlic, peeled and sliced
onions, sliced into thin strips
mushrooms, sliced
butter
tomato sauce
brown sugar- about a T. to a can of tom sauce
black pepper
salt

Melt butter in a frying pan and add onions. Fry until translucent. Add mushrooms until cooked. Add garlic and fry until fragrant (less than a minute- don't want to burn it). Remove from flame. Add tomato sauce, brown sugar, spices. Return to flame and bring to a boil. Toss with pasta.

Wow. thsi thread is older than my Shimie! My mother gave me this recipe last night! Our version was with pink salmon and with cornflake crumbs.

I like to give canned corn as a side dish to any kind of patties, or breaded macaroni.

pink tichel - I'm going to try your pasta recipe, do you think I could omit the tomato sauce and just put in osem powder and water?

It doesn't taste much differently, except that the consistency is a bit thicker. I like this recipe because I can get some vegetables into my kid, who otherwise wouldn't look at the stuff.

You could, I suppose, but it'll taste completely different. If you're going to do that, skip the sugar. Let me know if it's any good so I can have a variation and call it "Geemum's pasta".

Am I the only dissenting vote here? I used whole wheat matzoh meal, 1/2 tsp. Salt, and garlic and onion powder and found that it tastes kind of bland. Am I missing something?

What spices?

garlic powder, black pepper, salt. I guess it's what the recipe calls for just more of it.
