As a treat I bought real Tuna steaks. I don't want to google a recipe because I want one that I know is going to be good. Anyone have a no fail yummy recipe?

I like marinating it in teriyaki marinade, mix equal part of soy sauce and orange juice,
use half part of toasted sesame oil. Add honey if you want it sweeter (my family doesn't),
you can add ground pepper, chili pepper to add heat.
The best way to cook would be to use a grilling pan. Or you can pan-fry (heat sesame oil),
or broil.
Don't overcook as it gets firm (as in tinned tuna) if it gets overcooked.
I prefer to sear the surface and leave the middle somwhat rare-ish.

I dont know if you get the mishpacha, but I was informed that there is a whole recipe section in it (or maybe from last week?) on tuna steaks.

I just made tuna that came out amazing -
just put a mixture of olive oil, hot paprika, salt and freshly crushed garlic, smeared it on both sides and seared it in a griddle pan (made the pan really hot, and did the tuna for about 30 sec to a minute each side, so that the sides were cooked but the middle was pretty rare). it was amazing.
I did use fresh tuna though, im not sure if it would be as good with frozen...
you can put a bit of lemon on top after.

There was a recipe posted for tuna steak a while ago, recommending to sautee onion in soy sauce and place on top of steaks. Anyone have the specifics?

Marinate in crushed fresh garlic, coriander, lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil, and a touch of cumin, for about 2 hours.
Sear on a griddle pan. If you're serving it room temperature on Shabbos, you don't want to overcook it as it will become too dry.
Serve with good quality cherry tomatoes, a mixture of lettuces and curled carrots. Place tuna steak on the bed of lettuces and sprinkle coriander / parsley over it, add a courdon (ring) of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Good luck!

I made up a mix of your suggestions.
Sesame oil, olive oil, soy sauce, black pepper, crushed garlic, onion powder, mushrooms, a drizzle of grape juice(?) and a bit of demerra sugar.
Its marinading now and we will see
