Not yet sure about desserts - but some sort of mezonos, something ice-creamish, and some sort of fruit.

every time my dh complains about imamother, I say you wouldn't be having these fancy meals if not for my inspiration from imamother!

Still figuring things out, but this is what I'm thinking:

Stuffed mushrooms
Sweet and sour halibut
brown jasmine rice
Sauteed kale

Not sure about dessert yet.

some kind of cake, maybe I'll finally get around to making yeast cakes

lots of fresh fruit for snacking

Its too hot for real food this week. I'm melting. This week's "theme" is "Keep it cool". (And I felt like milchigs because fleishigs is just too heavy on a hot day.)

Homemade sourdough challah
Starter:
Ice cold cantelope (how on earth is that spelled?)

Soup:
Gezpacho, also cold

Main course:
Lemon mint rice salad
Zucchini with Bulgarian cheese stuffing
Beer battered hake

Desert:
Fruit soup with apples, plums, leechee nuts, and mandarin oranges

How do you make that fruit soup, Seraph? I've never tried cooking a litchi before. Mandarin oranges either.

It's pretty hot here too, so we're having an easy Shabbos.

challah (still have some left from last week, b"h)
gefilte fish - the last roll from the freezer
chicken-beef soup with lukshen and matzo balls
duck sauce chicken
potato kugel
green salad with cherry tomatoes
ice cream with crunch

cholent (whatever the weather, this stays on the menu)
kishke (ditto - I'm shvitzing just thinking about it)

eggs and onions
mock chopped liver
corned beef
potato salad
ice cream with crunch

cake for nosh - hopefully Clarissa's brownies. If not, then amaretto cake.

Rice, salt, pepper, lemon juice, oil, mint. if you want, also add some cubed tomatoes or cukes, but I don't plan on it.

As for the fruit soup- cook apples, plums, with some sugar and lemon. When cooked, dump in a can of leechees and a can of mandarin oranges. Wink

Regular potato kugel with bits of deli in it.... DH asked me once to make such a thing.... so this is what was invented lol. It's actually really good!

Aha. Well, that takes care of that for me. No litchis on the kosher list. Pity; I have a lot of apples I'd like to use up.

Chicken soup w/matza balls

Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Rice
some kind of kugal-suggestions from anyone!!!

Most of my big kids are out of town so it won't be as easy for me!

BTW ; scb88-what's your seasame chicken recipe?

It's pretty easy, but takes some time - It's not my typical chicken recipe lol, but it's so delicious.

Dredge cutlets in flour-egg-flour, and fry. You don't have to fry them til they're fully cooked, because you're still going to bake them.

Saute an onion. Add garlic powder, and even increments of ketchup and brown sugar (like 1/2 C and 1/2 C or whatever you need.) Bring to boil, and spoon over chicken. Sprinkle sesame seeds and bake on 350 for a little bit, until done.
