I just call it baby corn salad, it's really a marinated vegetables salad.

I take lots of different vegetables and slice them in thin strips: different color peppers, baby corn, carrots, raw zucchini, mushrooms, onions, pickles, raw green beans.

Marinate them in a bit of oil and vinegar/sugar dressing. And lots of fresh garlic.

Still figuring it out, but this is what I'm thinking so far:

Fillet of sole with orange sauce
Spanish rice
Roasted asparagus
Brownies

I'll probably add something, but I'm still figuring out what.

SAUTEED FILLET OF SOLE WITH ORANGES from Williams Sonoma Kitchen Library Fish book

About 1 Cup all-purpose flour
salt and pepper
1 1/2 lb. sole fillets
3 Tablespoons clarified unsalted butter, plus 1-2 Tablespoons regular unsalted butter
1/4 Cup finely chopped yellow onion
1/3 Cup dry white wine
1/2 Cup fresh orange juice
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
2 oranges, peeled, white membrane removed and sectioned
chopped fresh flat-leaf (Italian) parsley or mint for garnish

Preheat an oven to 275 degrees.

Spread the flour on a plate and season with salt and pepper. Coat the fillets lightly with the flour and shake off any excess.

In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, melt the 3 tablespoons clarified butter. Add the fish and saute, turning once, until browned on both sides and opaque throughout when tested with a knife, 2-3 minutes on each side. Using a slotted spatula, transfer the fish to a warmed ovenproof platter or 4 ovenproof plates and cover with aluminum foil. Place in the oven to keep warm.

Reduce the heat to medium, add the onion and saute, stirring, until tender and translucent, 5-8 minutes. Add the wine and orange juice and zest, raise the heat to high and cook, uncovered, until reduced by half, 5-8 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir in the 1-2 tablespoons butter and the orange sections. Heat until warmed through.

Pour the sauce over the fish. Sprinkle with parsley or mint and serve immediately.

That sounds delicious!!! I just have to find guests who'd eat it with me - or teach my dh to like fish so I can make it. I'm saving it for such an occasion (the guests - not dh -he's not changing)

Sarahd, do you mind sharing your open-face blueberry pie recipe? I know it's probably late for you over there, so I'll plan on it during the week or for next Shabbos, if you have a chance to post it. Thanks.
