This is funny my mother just came and amongst what she brought we found two mangos in her suitcase. It must have been in a bag and packed by mistake. Anyways they are really expensive now and so it was a treat.
I would say anything you can not get here is fun and nice. Do you think they want practical things that you can not get here (or its too expensive to buy here) or just plain old fun things?
For me I love when my mother brings different types of mustard or health foods from the health food store because here there isn't much variety.

There isn't a whole lot I still ask my family to bring for me...a couple of things are Kool-Aid/Crystal Lite (although my kids have gotten used to Petel, I don't think I ever will!!) and nonstick foil -- has anyone seen it here? English-language women's/parenting magazines are REALLY expensive here and really cheap in America so I still get subscriptions sent to my parents' house...

Not exactly. In the USA I buy last year's style at end-of-season sales the next year. If yu can find the right one you can get one that lasts for a fairly low price. That is forthe winter. For the summer, I buy here so I can get cotton.
