(I wrote this in my blog first; that's why my kids have psudonyms. So no one will discover my secret identity and realize that I am superman. Or something like that.)
Princess: Ima, Coco-pop is big already.
Me: Yes, she is getting big, isn't she? You both play so nicely--
Princess: She's too big to be the baby anymore.
Me: Well, she's a big baby.
Princess: No. She's a toddler.
Me: I thought you were a toddler.
Princess: (eye roll) Nooooo. I am the huge big girl.
Me: Ah.
Princess: (a look that says, as I was saying, before your ridiculous interruption) so we have a toddler and a huge big girl, and no baby.
Me: Oh. Yes, well. Okay.
Princess: We need a baby.
Me: Do you want more ketchup with your chicken?
Princess: I'm gonna daven for a baby.
Me: Um! Okay. Just make sure that you daven that the baby should come in the right time.
Princess: (nods) How about right after lunch?

He he. I guess we don't do anything important in her eyes (ie, get a treat, go to the park) until after lunch. But that would be one speeeeeeedy pregnancy.

very cute
you remind me - my baby was born last August.
now last lag bamoer my son was very depressed that he's the only boy in the house and none of the girls wanted to build fires with him. - I told him to daven for a baby boy. -- so he did and few months later I had a boy. -- then this lag baomer comes along - he comes to me and says - remember last time I davened and hashem gave me a boy - so I'll daven for another brother - our baby is getting big already! I told him - he can always daven and hashem will give us when it's good for us.

true story- this not so little boy was bored at home cuz all the older siblings went away to yeshiva, school etc, he davened for a brother at kevarim and got one. I think it happened again and then his grandmother pulled him to the side and said to daven that the older married brothers should have kids, not his mother!

My 4 yo DD asked me just yesterday "Mommy, when will a baby pop out of your stomach?" I am not pregnant so I'm not sure what got her thinking about it. I love the phrase "pop out of your stomach" like the baby pops out like a kernel of popcorn.

Kids seem to think that babies are part of the furniture. Our baby is 3 and my 5 year old keeps on telling me 'Yossi* is three already, we need another baby. Every house has a baby!'. Now I see my kids are not the only ones who think that way....

When DD2 was born, DD1 (then 3 years old) asked me if I could put her back in my tummy, also asked if we could sell her on eBay

Adorable story.
But, no joke, our tefillos ARE powerful, and so are kids'. Next time you are waiting for a bus, cab, appointment, etc., ask your kids to daven for it to come quickly, and watch what happens!
