Why do we daven after tehillim, etc, for a "refuas haNEFESH urefuas hagoof?" Not "haneshama?" Is it that the neshama is the unchangable part directly connected to G-d and the nefesh is the presentation or actualization of that neshama that we can affect with the goof and it's actions? I don't understand the technical difference between nefesh and neshama.

If the Neshama is the unchangable part directly connected to G-d, then it couldn't possibly need healing...

elise, I dont know the answer to your question in general, but I know that "nefesh" is the first/lowest level of the Neshama.
