I use the chicken style pareve consomme for seasoning many things - I was wondering what other flavor is popular and for what?
Onion?
Vegetable?
Beef?
From the 3 above which is the best one?

I use onion soup mix, not a lot but I use it. For broccoli kugel, rice in the oven, and french onion soup to add flavor.

I usually dont like using consomme, but I do use the beef flavored one for milchig french onion soup.

I use the beef in way too much stuff.
onion rings
chulent
mushrooms
salad dressings
it has way too much msg for me to be using it freely in all those things, actually I dont know why I am admitting this on the internet....

BTW, I think osem does make MSG-free consomme. It doesn't taste as good....but for seasoning stuff it might be ok (just maybe need more salt).
I have some "chicken" MSG-free consomme..I think it's osem...

yea, I have hte hcicken one, its fine for our intents and purposes...tastes a drop "sweeter" to me if I had to really put my finter on it.
but the beef one, I guess Im so used to the regular salty taste that the MSG-free one doesnt do it for us! its pathetic but whatever. my biggest cooking vice I guess

yeah, I get leibers msg free consomme but the osem (parve chicken) is so much better. I am not using it anymore though becasue it gives my dd headaches.

I also get headaches from MSG...unless I drink a LOT of water when I ingest it....a LOT...

osem does make an MSG free soup mix and I haven't noticed any difference in taste.
