I also like banana splits made with sour cream and sugar, and banana/strawberry malteds made with vanilla ice cream, or with milk and ice cubes.

You can freeze bananas and use them to make cake at a later date. I freeze them in packages the size of the recipe (1 cup, 1.5 cup etc.)

2 years ago Pesach, my sister had a whole case of bananas that no one touched. The peels were all DARK BROWN from top to bottom. But the inside was as YELLOW as possible & perfectly ripe. But noone would touch it because of the peels. So we made it all into chocolate covered bananas, & they all went.
We had to hide a few for those who don't eat chocolate on Pesach to be able to enjoy them after pesach.

Any way I can make this if I don't have chocolate in the house, only cocoa?

do you have chocolate chips? It needs to be something that'll harden onto it.

Nope. I guess I'll just buy chocolate to keep in the house for those too ripe bananas that I have at the end of each week.
Thanks!

cocoa / oil / sugar ...
1 ounce semi-sweet baking chocolate = 1 tablespoon cocoa + 3 1/2 teaspoons sugar + 2 teaspoons shortening
btw OP not ALL taste buds like bananas ...
try making smoothies with yogurt, milk, bananas (they could be frozen) and choc syrup ... in a blender

how many bananas can you coat with a bag of chocolate chips?
I'm trying to figure out if this would be a worthwhile treat (trying to do weight watchers!)

I just made banana-walnut-choc. chip 'bread'...
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 small)
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Grease bottom only of a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan; set aside.
Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and walnuts in a large mixer bowl; blend well on medium speed. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Pour into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 50-70 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.

You can replace oil in most cakes with mashed bananas.
There's also this DELICIOUS chocolate banana cake from one of the Susie cookbooks.
