I've never heard of hand towel vs. paper towel families:? But since imamother has entered my life, I make sure that chrein gets served in bowls. thanks for the laugh, now I have koach to get two rooms finished tonight.

I seriously cracked up several times. Rabbi "hauer" also nearly cracked up when he spoke about the frum minimum security federal prison.

sorry, just as an aside, how else does one serve chrein? just curious

ss321, don't you know? You just plonk the jar on the table with a plastic spoon in it. Honestly! Your expensive education is sadly lacking

And now I know all the questions to ask for my son. Very important!! I'm pleased to say DS's Apgar score was higher than 8.6! So he's a catch, right???
This was great!

I don't serve Chrein any more--he's an adult, let him get it himself.

Every now and then I see something that makes me say "I wish I'd thought of that!" and this is one of them. What a hoot!

OMG! now Im honestly embarassed.
I put everything in glass bowls but I didnt think that was a "status"/"shidduch" type thing akin to the "plastic vs cloth" table cloth thing and all those! I put it in a glass bowl because a) people use less chrein if thats all there is - so I go thru less per meal that way b) my mother put it in a glass bowl so so do I and c) I hate containers on the table - shabbos or weekday!!

I avoid the chrein bottle/bowl issue entirely by not serving gefilte fish.

You can always do with chrein what somebody I know does with ketchup...pour it DIRECTLY onto a bare table & everyone digs their french fries into the puddle in the middle. I kid you not.
The jar on the table is starting to sound quite sophisticated, isn't it!!

they didn't ask if the OJ carton gets placed directly on the table or is poured into crystal pitchers (real life question!)

Also an issue with many shadchanim and picky moms. I'm not kidding.
