Anyone know how to make? I have a new dishwasher that I want to use for pesach but my husband is not sure he wants to use cascade liquid for pesach (family Minhag.)
Any ideas of homemade detergent?

People who don't use processed products wash their dishes with halved lemons and coarse salt to scrub and they wash by hand. But that can't be used in a dishwasher.

People don't use soap? How do they wash their hands?

We use regular dish soap on pesach but only with a heimish hechsher so I was wondering what an alternative could be for dishwasher detergent.

I made homemade dishwasher detergent (not for Pesach) using washing soda and citric acid, plus a few drops (not more!) of dish soap.

Washing soda: https://www.amazon.com/Arm-Ham.....XNTEU (has an OU)

I got citric acid with a hechsher also.

It was not as effective as the storebought detergent but it was okay especially short-term. But I don't know if that's an improvement for you for Pesach since you want heimishe hechsherim.

Whatever you do, do not put regular dish soap in your dishwasher. I know it sounds like it should work but it will be a disaster.

Correct. A few drops (as in the recipe above) are fine. Tried and tested Smile

But any more than that will be very dramatic (and possibly kill your dishwasher)
