Hi
I have been saving up for years to buy a house. FINALLY we were ready and started the process.
I was ready for this crazy prices but I was not ready for the crazy bidding war that goes on by every decent house we give an offer to.
We gave in offers to 5 houses in the past 3 months. We went way above the asking price and above what we originally planned to pay. And we always get outbid.
Why are houses going for 100k more then the asking price?
(I'm talking about regular family house 3-5 bdrm not mansions)

Because there is very very little inventory and there's a lot of people looking for a house. So every house that's decent and in a decent area is going to have bidding wars.
