For a family with 4 older elementary age kids and 2 adults?
I made one log, it sliced into 8 slices about 2” a slice. Is that enough? Assuming she’ll use it shabbos day.

What else is she being sent to? If it is an appetizer, it is plenty. If there is also chicken and potato kugel, it is plenty. If it is the entire meal, it might not be enough.

Assuming it’s a side dish - in our circles people serve it shabbos day alongside the cholent

It should be enough alongside cholent, if there are other courses like salad, eggs, fish.

One log is great. 2" slices sound very thick. I'm assuming there are other foods bring served as well.

I always err on the side of giving too much rather than too little.
