8 small apples on lollipop sticks
1 C sugar
1/3C water
1/3 C light corn syrup
(optional: little cinnamon candies)
Combine sugar, water and syrup in a small heavy pot. Stir over medium heat til dissolved, then boil (about 8 minutes) to 300* Remove from heat and dip apples on sticks into candy. Let sit on a greased sheet of foil about 5 minutes to harden and cool.
Have fun! We made them last night. _________________ Mommy to 5 bli ayin hara, with medical issues including mental health, brain damage, GI disease, developmental delay

8 to 10 medium apples (sweet or tart, as desired), at room temperature
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
Few drops flavored oil (cinnamon, clove, etc.), if desired
Wooden skewers
Generously grease a baking sheet; set aside. Wash and dry apples thoroughly. Insert wooden skewer in stem end of each apple.
Mix sugar, water, corn syrup in a 2-quart heavy saucepan. Heat to boiling over high heat; reduce heat. Boil gently, without stirring, to 290*F (145*C) on candy thermometer or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water separates into threads that are hard but not brittle. Remove from heat and stir in red food coloring and flavored oil.
Quickly dip apples into syrup, twirling until completely coated. Place on prepared baking sheet to cool.
Makes 8 to 10 candied apples
Red Candied Apples
8 Firm red apples
8 wooden sticks (washed popsicle sticks work great!)
3 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup water
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. red food coloring
Wash and dry your apples (make sure they are firm, unbruised apples). Remove the stem. Insert a wooden stick where the stem was. Grease a cookie sheet to set dipped apples on.
Put sugar, syrup and water in a pot. Heat and stir to dissolve. Boil without stirring until liquid is 300̊F (150̊C) on your candy thermometer. At this temperature a drop of syrup in cold water will separate into brittle threads. Remove from heat.
Mix in cinnamon and food coloring. Dip apples in syrup. Drain over saucepan. Set on cookie sheet. If the syrup starts to harden reheat it. Let apples cool before eating!!
12 red delicious apples
12 wooden skewers
4 ½ cups sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp red food coloring
1 ½ cups water
1 cup chopped peanuts {optional}
Instructions
Parental supervision needed.
Grease a large cookie sheet and set aside. Wash and dry apples. Insert a stick through stem, leaving about two inches sticking out. In saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, corn syrup, food coloring and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until ingredients are dissolved and liquid boils.
Set a candy thermometer in mixture and continue cooking, without stirring until temperature reaches 290 degrees, about 20 minutes. Meanwhile place shopped peanuts in a bowl. Remove syrup from heat and dip the apples, one by one, to coat evenly. Work quickly.
Optional, as you dip each apple roll in peanuts to coat then place on prepared cookie sheet. Let apples cool for at least an hour.
15 apples 2 cups white sugar 1 cup light corn Lightly grease cookie sheets. Insert craft sticks into whole, stemmed apples. 2 In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Heat to 300 to 310 degrees F (149 to 154 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms hard, brittle threads. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring. 3 Holding apple by its stick, dip in syrup and remove and turn to coat evenly. Place on prepared sheets to harden.
