Maybe she means a regular chicken rather than a sweet chicken, heavily spicy chicken or a fried/breaded chicken. A bit of garlic, tumeric or paprika, onion powder, moist so there is a gravy. Anyway, that's what I think of when I think of a chicken going with mushroom flavored rice.

Here's a great way to cook it, you'll have LOTS of gravy to go over the rice.

It's not baked, but cooked in a pot on the stove.... Here goes:

Fry a large, cut up onion.
Add the Chicken pieces and brown on all sides.
Pour some Dry Red Wine over the chicken and let it cook for a couple of minutes.
Add: Fresh-peeled Garlic Cloves, Cubed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes and Carrots and enough water to cover about 3/4 of the veggies.
Spices: Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Mushroom Soup Mix.

Cook until chicken and veggies are soft.

This recipe it YUM YUM YUM!!!
It's always a hit!!!

Thanks Hinda R!
I'm thinking of making it right now!
It's worth it, just for the amazing aroma which fills the house while it's cooking!!! Yes

Hinda R - I personally don't like what happens to chicken when it's on the Plata over-night..... I don't know, it gets kinda dry and hard to eat...

We usually have it Friday night. (and it heats up well during the week, if you have any left-over...)

BTW, I forgot to write in the recipe: Add lots of fresh Garlic cloves (peeled). it gives a really good flavor. (maybe I'll edit my post above, in case someone only reads the recipe...)

You can try playing with your own homemade mixes. I would mix spices such as tumeric, paprika, garlic, onion powder, fresh or dired parsley, salt and pepper together, add fresh sauteed mushrooms, mix in with some home cooked soup broth; chicken or veggie or beef.

This isn't a guarrantee that it would work, but I think you'll get a nice flavor out of the above.

Sure! You can use diff. spices and or Onion Soup-Mix.
I'm sure it will come out delicious.

The idea with the mushroom soup-mix, is that it makes the gravy kind of creamy and thick.
But, maybe you can get that effect by using some corn-starch. (mix in a cup: a small amount of the gravy with a little bit of corn-starch, and add to the pot towards the end, like 5 min. before you turn off the fire).

Good Shabbs!! Very Happy

I wouldn't think fruited chicken would, but that is just my taste.

Everything is ready, on the platta...one half hour to go so I come here to see everyone.

I love it here.
