Hi. We will be next week shabbos in LA, and we are looking for a place to stay. We prefer a catered shabbos if thats at all an option. If not, are there any hotels in the jewish neighborhood, meaning walking distance to shul? Any hotels that will accommodate jewish needs like hot tray, shabbos keys...etc..? Where should we shop for food?
We are a group of 3 couples.
Any other info that could be helpful for our stay is appreciated.
Thank you

LA is a very big jewish community and there are definitely many options for catered food at a hotel. Pico/Robertson is a very large community that has MANY shuls and restaurants on Pico Blvd. Many people choose to stay at the Residence Inn or Crowne Plaza on Pico and Beverly Drive. Many restaurants have shabbos take out options: Pico Kosher Deli is very popular for shabbos takeout, Got Kosher, Shanghai (which is chinese and right next to those two hotels). I know that some restaurants will deliver to hotels, but the walk is so close that it may not be worth it. There are also a hotel or two on Robertson Blvd (check out the Carlyle Inn). I would suggest you stay in Pico/Robertson, Beverlywood area for shabbos.
The other 2 main frum communities are Fairfax/La Brea/Hancock Park. There are a number of shuls there. It overall is a more yeshivish community. Pico/Robertson is more mixed. La Brea area has a number of restaurants too, like Circa that will have Shabbos take out options. However there aren't as many restaurants, and frankly they aren't as good. There are motels in La Brea area on Beverly Blvd and Third Street, however they definitely will not be as nice as the hotels in Pico/Robertson (hotel vs. motel).
The other community is Valley Village, which is a smaller community with less hotel options.
Hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me.
