ours only lasted about an hour, and still had 1/2 to 3/4 oil left, so I lifted up the wicks, and re-lit them - really annoying!!!

We used "E-Z Lite" which are liquid and the vials are plastic and had no issues, B"H. Since it was my first time using such things, I was a bit worried and wasn't very fond of leaving while they were still burning.

I have heard of a few people who had fires with the "easy lights" (not E-z lights) brand this year too - they used the liquid kind, not the jelled. The jars were plastic. Also I had the same issue as madys with them goign out after a very short time, but I was unable to successfully relight them...even after pulling up the wicks!

shock Wow, how nuts. B'H we used these cups without incident, and DH loved the convenience, but we'll know better for next year!

Good thing my husband likes to do it himself to be more involved in the mitzva. My whole chanuka would be ruined from such an incident!

No, I'm the original amother from this year and I've heard about the exact same problem happening this year, but with the liquid ones distributed by the same company - easy lights, by ahron's judaica. I don't think its to the same extent of a problem as last year, but I know of a few families who had these catch on fire

I was curious about this, and googled ahron's judaica. The first link led to that blog spot. Here you go --
