I have a box of chocolates and it has this symbol of sort of a shield looking picture with a K inside of it- and D for dairy on outside. Anyone ever see such a kosher symbol? Its made in michigan so I assume its their kosher symbol there. I checked it on the kosher list but it isn't listed as a common one.... Any help?

If you are speaking about the one from Minnesota,- united mehadrin kosher also called upper midwest kosher, it is by Rav Asher Zellingold. He is a very big chabad Rabbi in St Paul Minnesota.

Not sure if that helps at all- or what that really means to you Smile but I think its pretty well accepted.

The Chicago Rabbinical Council (http://www.crcweb.org) lists it (the one from Minnesota) as reliable with the note that their meats are not Glatt (which is not acceptable to the cRc) unless specified. They say it is good for other products.

Tablet K? There's an image of it here in the "Long Island" section: http://www.kashrusmagazine.com.....o.htm . I don't know the specifics of why, but I have heard that there is lot of distrust of this hechsher and there have been discussions about it here in the past:

HEY KEEP IT DOWN IN HERE! Wink Can you take a photo of or scan the symbol and post it? Another way to identify it would be to call the company, or find their website and look around for information on who does their kosher certification.

I wish there were a better way to search for kosher symbols. Like, a database that lets you tag them with descriptive words like "book" or "tablet."
