Last night she went to bed 11:45( had a simcha) she woke up 345 to eat , I let her cry and went in to calm her every 10 minutes , she finally fell back asleep at 5:10 , then woke up at 7 for the morning.
So the problem is she barely eats throughout the day . I calculated today she had 13 oz formula altogether . So is this why she’s waking at night ? Although this morning she only had 2 oz so she must’ve not been that hungry when she was crying at night. Can I sleep train her if she’s only eating 13 oz a day??
She’s not good at eating solids, I’ve been trying for a weeks but she gags a lot and only gets in a few bites a day .
Please help a tired mommy
This is my 5th Kh and I never had such a hard time with my others, they all woke up only once by 6 months and stopped that on their own, I never had to sleep train. |
Please don’t let her cry. She is 6 months and she is probably hungry at night. Feed her is she is hungry.

Dr is not concerned and neither am I because if you saw her cheeks you wouldn’t be either I’m just concerned that this is why she has to wake up at night …. Maybe if I can get her to eat during the day she wont need to eat at night …. So does that mean I can’t sleep train her as of now ? |
You can’t sleep train a starving baby. That’s not ok. Why is she eating so little. You must feed her at night if she is eating so little.

She wasn’t screaming she was crying and I was calming her down , I really felt bad but then in the morning she only ate 2 oz , I was like wait so you weren’t even that hungry! I’m really against cry it out method , but every time I came into her room she took her paci and cuddled with her blanket and looked happy to go back to sleep…. Until she started crying again .

Ok so sleep training is canceled … don’t worry everyone I’m not abusive , I tried it for one night and it’s not like I was completely ignoring her …
Does anyone have experience with getting your baby to eat more when they are not interested ?

I hear , but she’s otherwise such a happy baby, no stomach problems , no colic , no spitting up…. What could be bothering her ? Could it be she’s just a small eater ? (Definitely doesn’t take after me!)

Have you tried swapping around her schedule so that she has a bottle right before naps? They usually recommend eat-play-sleep, but with my last I found he ate more when I did play-eat-sleep. Especially when I gave him his bottle in the darkened bedroom...
