Making Potato Starch

I looked through all 10 pages of threads for recipes and was surprised that the women who gave instructions to make potato starch suggested to put the potatoes in a food processor. The juice extractor is the best machine to do it with because you get the most juice out of the potatoes and you don't have to squeeze the potatoes. Also after drying the potato starch its a good idea to sift it so it would be a fine powder. It must be dried completely, otherwise it will spoil with mold.

Sounds good!
I think most people use a food processor to make their starch, simply because they then use the grated potatoes for potato kugel.

When you really want potato starch the juice extractor is the best. I wouldn't want to use those potatoes for kugel.

This happens to be a 14 year old thread FYI...
But on this note, I saw somebody wrote into the view that they use a dehydrator (like for jerky) and I thought that made a lot of sense, I didn't try it though

My mother is planning on trying a few slices of potato with her chometz dehydrator to see what happens, if you're interested in knowing I can update this thread.

Can someone please give clear instructions on how to make potato starch? I've heard different versions and I'm really unclear how to go about it.

I have a vegetable juicer that has a big mouth so the whole potatoes go straight in the machine. let's say I make 25 potatoes and juice them put them in a bowl and leave it on the counter for about 2 hours. you will see that the water stays up and a big white piece feels like a rock sits on the bottom so you just pour off the water and leave that white piece. rinse it with cold water and don't spill it. let it stand for an hour do this process about 4 times you will see that each time the water will become clearer and the white piece will become whiter when you finish this process just pour the water out of the bowl and let dry the white piece for a few hours than crumble the piece with a knife I take a 9x13 foil with a baking paper on the counter let it dry. looks harder than it is.
