Someone once posted a layered yapchik recipe for pesach that is layered straight into the crockpot. Maybe it's onions then sliced potatoes then meat and then kugel or something like that?
My family really liked it and I cannot find the actual recipe. Anyone know it?

No
It had layers of onions, sliced potatoes, meat, potato kugel mixture. It seemed similar to one of those recipes but not quite.

It's not this one?
Half kugel mixture
Layer of sliced potatoes
Sautéed onions
Layer of meat
Remaining potato kugel mixture on top
Or this one?
Grease crockpot and then line with parchment paper so it stays in place.
First layer: meat and bones (or used sliced potatoes underneath the meat if you don't have bones)
Second layer: grated onion
Third layer: shredded potatoes
Fourth layer: lots of salt
Don't add any water, oil or eggs. Don't mix the layers.
Cover crockpot and cook on low for 20-24 hours.

The second one looks similar! It definitely didn't have kugel mixture on the bottom so it's not the first. I'll ask my son if he remembers, he's the one who's been asking the most! I remember it being unusual like no eggs or no water I forgot. I thought it had sauteed onions but maybe not.
Thanks!!!

This looks right, I just don't remember using meat bones.
I do remember your recommendation for putting the potato mixture in a mason jar with a paper towel for 3 day yom tov and it worked amazing.

Then it must have been the Binah recipe. I switch off between the 2, but I only prep the potatoes in advance when I make the potato kugel batter version with the paper towel and the mason jar, as plain grated potatoes don't work in advance
Maybe you just did sliced potatoes, sautéed onion, meat, and the whole yukon gold kugel batter on top.

I definitely remember doing the jar thing. The paper towel turned black but the kugel inside was perfect.
