There is a therapist who specializes in a problem DD has. The problem is I don't feel comfortable with her seeing a male therapist. Would like to know others' thoughts.

No. Just no. Maybe I’m projecting though.
I know a male therapist that specializes in eating disorders. He creeps me out and I always wonder how parents are comfortable sending their daughters to him.

If a parent is always present at each appointment it's fine.
If not, then nothing to talk about. I'm sure he is a tzaddik yashar, but your daughter should not be sharing things with him that are too private to speak in front of her parents.
Hashem has many messengers. May your upholding kedusha of a bat israel be a zechut for a smooth resolution.

Wasn't CW enough to cure us forever from sending our daughters to male therapists?

If you are comfortable sharing what the issue is maybe people can give you names of female therapists that treat this issue in your area

My child has an eating disorder. Can you tell me where this therapist is located?

No way. Unless you sit in at every session, which isn't really feasible & can hinder progress. So no.

There was a terrible story in Williamsburg about a male therapist that was seeing girls. I don’t know the end of it but it’s a hard NO for me!

If you're talking about Nechemya Weberman, he got 100 years.

I saw a male therapist at that age. I had been seeing a female therapist and it wasn't helping and thrbmale therapist helped so much.
I think it is fine as long as you sit in the waiting room and theybleave the door a Crack open so you can hear what's going on.

I find it hard to believe that you can't find a skilled female eating disorder therapist.

Is it something that can be done over Zoom if there is no females who specialise in this area?
