Hi I’m opening a discussion regarding vegetable, beef, or chicken broth. Does anyone know much about it? Many recipes , specifically soups call for it. I’ve used some in the past, but idk. Is it healthy? Is it really needed? Can I / should I just use water instead? Does anyone have an opinion about this?

I personally like flavoring myself and don't appreciate adding broth.

I always use water, so I have no idea if I'm missing out on anything, but it absolutely works to substitute

Dinner done has a substitute for broth, 1 tsp. chicken consomme' powder to every cup of water
I never tried it, I don't use soup mix, my sister claims it adds to her soups.
