Can anyone tell me if you can put chickpeas into the crockpot over shabbos or will they overcook and turn Into mush_ hummus? And would it make a difference to put it in a separate bag?
Thanks!!

My mother in law would occasionally do a chickpeas chulent. She'd put it up Friday morning for Friday night.
I wasn't a fan at all, but some people loved it.

My family likes chickpeas
I just wanted to make sure it doesn't turn into mush. If it's like other beans that's fine

Yes, but only if you know your family and guests like them. IDK why many people have a stronger reaction to chic peas than to other beans, but they do.

So happy I did it. I made more of a stew than a chulent but my kids and husband loved it.
