The segulah appears in the "Sefer Moed Lekol Chai" along with the appropriate tefillah. I have the tefillah here, but I am unable to upload a screenshot, so best to google it.

Sorry, no source or tefilla.
I was married 5 weeks and my sisters in law gathered around and told me to bite pitom off for easy labor. I had never heard of such a thing and was mortified. I don’t remember though if I complied. I was already pregnant but didn’t know it yet. And labor lasted 50 hours

That’s weird. My DH always had me do it as a segula for Shalom Bayis. Lol

From what I know its a segulah for becoming pregnant and easy labor (or maybe its an old wives tale?!?)
I would love a source

Given how much pesticide they use, it seems like it would be a Segula for fetal damage.

You don’t eat it you bite off the pitom with your teeth.

This how the classic Jewish children's book The adventures of K'tonton begins — his mother bites off the end of her husband's esrog and the thumb-sized boy was born within the year.
From the glossary in the back: "There is a folk superstition that a childless woman who bites off the tip of the Ethrog at the concludion of the [Sukkos] festival will be blessed with a male child."

Thanks for reminding me! I do it every year as a segulah for easy labors, just like I wash for melave malka every week - pregnant or not. I don't have easy labors and don't want to find out what they'd be like WITHOUT these segulos... So I do mine and leave the rest up to Him.
