Five Chayalim have been killed. Tens have been wounded. My daughter (23 yo) just called me and told me that a friend of hers is seriously wounded. Now in surgery. (I know his name is Elad but not his mother's name).

These soldiers aren't just tough guys in green. They're our sons, our neighbor's sons, our kid's friends, our friend's kids... I see the troublemaker from my son's class and I say "Who gave that wiseguy a gun?". They grow up and the kids we used to protect are now protecting us.

I know that I'm not fast to say Tehillim for just a name on a list without knowing something about them (even so-and-so's cousin who has cancer is enough), so I'm trying to stress that this isn't Tehillim for face-less soldiers. They're for your son's HS Chevruta. They're just kids.

After extensive searching, I think I have found a current link to donate tzitzit for chayalim.
http://www.stogether.org/wonder-tzitzit/

Only the link is in English pounds... haven't yet seen if it will work

or here:
https://afidfr.youngisrael.org.....e.cfm

I just wanted to bump this up in case any of you would like to participate.

I was forwarded this, and I thought I'd post it here.

As we are not on the physical battlefield to protect Knesset Yisrael, we are organizing a spiritual battlefield to protect our Chayalim and the general Klal Yisrael.

To that end, we are arranging ongoing Tehillim. Please sign up on the attached spreadsheet to commit to saying tehillim at the allotted 15 minute time slot every day of the week, until the war ends.

If you are unable to say tehillim during the selected time one day, you are responsible to find a replacement, whether it be a spouse, child, sibling or neighbor in order to maintain continuity. (A time slot can obviously be taken on jointly by a family).

It would also be extremely helpful if we could have the participation of those currently travelling to the US, specifically during the Israeli hours of 1AM- 6AM.

Tizku Lamitzvot and may Hashem answer our Tefillot!

here's the link

Just wanted to emphasise what Sanguine said about not being random names on a list.

I just opened http://tehilimyahad.com/mr.jsp?r=GKp9KbA1V1 to say some tehillim and they gave me Perek 140. I started reading it, and I gasped out loud - it just seemed so appropriate. Here's an English translation:

Quote:
1. For the conductor, a song of David. א.

2. Rescue me, O Lord, from an evil man from a man of robbery You shall guard me.

3. Who plotted evil things in their heart; every day they gather to wage war.

4. They whetted their tongue like a serpent; the venom of a spider is under their lips forever.

5. Guard me, O Lord, from the hands of a wicked man; from a man of robbery You shall watch me, who plotted to cause my steps to slip.

6. Haughty men have concealed a snare for me, and [with] ropes they spread a net beside [my] path; they laid traps for me constantly.

7. I said to the Lord, "You are my God." Hearken, O Lord, to the voice of my supplications.

8. God, O Lord, the might of my salvation; You shall protect my head on the day of battle.

9. O Lord, do not grant the desires of the wicked; do not let his thoughts succeed, for they are constantly haughty.

10. The numbers of those who surround me, may the lies of their lips cover them.

11. Let fiery coals descend on them; He will cast them into fire, in wars, so that they will not rise.

12. A slanderer will not be established on earth; a man of violence, the evil will trap him with thrust upon thrust.

13. I know that the Lord will perform the judgment of a poor man, the cause of the needy.

14. But the righteous will thank Your name; the upright will sit before You.

eta: it seems when I bolded the word Chamas in pasuk 4, the order got messed up. that pasuk reads:

I have been saying specific perakim every day and a family relative split up the tehillim between a whole group of us to be said every day!

I have a very very close friend who is in the army in Gaza as we speak. Most of his unit were injured or killed last week and he is having a hard time. Hashem should give him koach and courage.

Our thoughts are with you Israeli brothers and sisters. Stay safe!!

Shabbat Shalom!

When you say Tehillim for Chayallim please have in mind my daughter's friend who lost an eye and major damage on that side of face and now his brain is swelling. His name is Moshe Elad Ben EEtiel

will keep him in mind.

I just want to say - I keep finding amazing references to this war in the tehillim. It's amazing how the words of Dovid Hamelech are so relevant today.

I agree! Found myself reading the English translation and relating to it so much.

Do any women want to split up the Tehillim with me this way we end up reading the whole book le'man Am Israel? If we get enough women we can do a few prakim each.

Don't know how we can organize such a thing over the internet, but I figured it was worth a shot.

Just curious, why don't you join the existing one? They've read sefer Teillim more than 2,000 times already?
