how to inspire our teens

I have a teenage girl linving in our house she grew up with extremely stict parents and has come to live with us for some cercumstanses. I feel that she just doesn't care and has no tochan in her life.(she is a good girl and b''h doesn't do bummy things). she is a very quiet girl and does not open to anyone. we've try to set up a maspia but didn't quite work.

how can we show her love for yiddishkeit, instead of the you have to do this and this and this..............
how can I inspire her.
how can we get her to love herself and have self respect?

You have two issues to address here.

First ..............

We have broached this subject numberous times at Machon Chana. Rabbi Majeski says that you have to show the kids the excitement that brought you in. (Not easy, I know.)

Also - you can't make a big deal of the hardships of the tuition expense, Kosher food expense, getting up early to daven, Pesach cleaning stress.

Secondly -

Loving herself and respecting herself? Find out what she's good at and let her teach/tutor others. Capitalize on her good qualilties.
