DH and I will be married 3 years and his 34th bday is around the same time too. So either I need two gifts, or one big expensive gift. In total for the two gifts, I can afford to spend up to $150.
I can't think of anything good to get DH.
Let me tell you about him, and maybe you can think of something.
* Lawyer
* Enjoys whiskey (obvious gift: whiskey...but looking for something more original)
* Enjoys books, especially collectors books
* Recently into home renovation stuff
* First bday as a father
* Intellectual type
* Not into: music, video games, jewellery, sports, food
* Enjoys antiques, philosophy

OP Again....
I should note that I'm not necessarily looking for a gift related to one of the things that I wrote...I just gave you the list to maybe give some guidance. If you have an awesome, original idea of your own, send it my way!!!!

I gave one year for our anniversary a big painting from our wedding (thats before I had kids) if you want you can make a painting from a family potrait.
for his b day I gave him a mens package... silk robe, cologne, slippers, cufflinks.....

I'm also in similar dilemma, dh bday is next week, recently renovated his office, so I'll be buying some cool stuff for his office, like a huge funny poster, mayb a very large Million dollar bill or customized million check with a pic frame of our daughter...
I was thinking that ur dh is a lawyer, there are so many cute stuff to buy for that. Does he have an office ?? desk? google search large poster I'm sure you'll find

You could buy him an "experience" e.g. a whiskey tasting day? Or you could buy him obe gift related to each sense e.g. a CD for sound, theatre tickets for sight, etc etc?
