go to www.coveryourhair.com. Under "useful information" you will find "how to tie a tichel." Some people just don't look good in tichels. EARRINGS help alot. :-)

I don't have a thin, skinny or anything but round and pudgy face; I have been told that tichels are complimentary on me. The above links are great - you can also google it or utube it and you'll get a bunch of links. It took me a while to learn how to do it well, and which looks are better for me -

But she's showing so much hair at the back and sides. Is there any way of covering all your hair with these tichels?

strudel- I sell beanies to cover your hair first. It covers everything and also helps it not slip as much.
And thank you Yesha!

There is a book in Hebrew called Mitpachot Metapchot (or as dh calls it, mitpachat mitpachat) which is mostly illustrated and shows you how to tie in lots of different ways.
I have such a big head most hats don't fit but Israeli mitpachot work really well on me. I think it just takes practice and figuring out what works for you, and pins or kipa clips to keep things in place.

I have just bought one and am trying not to look like a frum pirate myself- I can relate. I had the seller show me how to tie it , like 1000 times, until I could do it. She earned her money that day, poor woman.
