DS's 5th birthday party was supposed to be outdoors/picnic. Well, even if the rain stops by then (improbable) the ground will still be soaked. So we are changing the location from the park to our house.

There will be DS, 3-4 friends (ages 4-5) and 2 toddlers. The party is 2 hrs, incl lunch. We need indoor activities, besides just playing with toys.

So far I came up with:
Musical chairs
Duck, duck goose
Freeze (where yo play music, and when it stops, they freeze)

Any other ideas?

Do I need prizes for the winners? (I have party bags already prepared for the end)

BTW, I am 39 wks pregnant!

Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Mother May I, Simon Says. Have them make necklaces out of Cheerios. Buy some sharpies, spread newspaper on the floor, and let them decorate tee shirts. Make ice cream sundaes. Decorate cookies.

Maybe hope you will go into labor?

BTW, I would skip the sharpies, the parents won't like the stained clothing.

have them string fruit-loops onto the string type of licorice

play "hot and cold" (one kid leaves the room, the rest of the kids hide a pre-determined toy, kid returned and say cold, warm, getting warmer, hot, etc, as the kid gets closer and further away from the toy. Only thing is, you need 2 adults, one w/ the kid going out, one hiding the object w/ the others.)
